Rob Timmerman Photography

Rob Timmerman is a freelance commercial photographer and photojournalist who has covered a wide variety of photo assignments ranging from local news and sports to commercial work for various clients. He picked up his first camera at the age of 17 in his high school photography class and has been taking pictures ever since.

Rob is originally from Severna Park, MD. In 2009 he decided to take his career to the next level. He is currently studying photography at The Art Institute of Charleston and has completed an internship with The Post and Courier, which is based in Charleston, SC.

Right now he is at the point in his life where he is always ready for a new adventure and experience. His hope is to be able to travel around the world and use his skill and passion to change people’s lives.

Rob is greatly influenced by the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson, a photographer famous for his ability to capture the decisive moment. The following Cartier-Bresson quote both inspires and grounds the foundation for Rob's work as a photographer:
“The photograph itself doesn't interest me. I want only to capture a minute part of reality.”
So I guess I photograph babies now… :)
